Celebrate your plant-based lifestyle at the next vegan food festival near you!

2017 was a huge year for vegan food UK-wide, with over 150 events being held across the country. 2018 is set to be even bigger, so no matter whether you’re a lifelong vegan, or you’re interested in plant-based foods to aid weight loss, there’s no better time to get involved with the vegan food scene. Read on to find out our top tips for visiting vegan food events, and our picks for festivals in 2018.

What to expect at a vegan food event

Plant-powered food events can vary in size from a small selection of local traders to huge exhibitions with hundreds of stalls to explore. One thing is for certain though – there’ll be more cruelty-free goodies than you can shake a stick at! From vegan versions of your favourite junk food, through to store cupboard staples for those following a plant-based diet, a vegan food event will help you to discover a world of new foods.

Alongside food stalls, you’ll find a whole host of vegan events. Think debates around the impact of a vegan diet on health conditions like heart disease, cooking demonstrations and documentary screenings.

As veganism becomes more mainstream in the UK, vegan festivals have started to showcase other products too, such as vegan leather handbags and natural beauty products, so you can make sure you’re looking after the environment and animals in all aspects of your life.

Planning your trip

There’s so much to discover at vegan food festivals that it’s worth making a game plan before you arrive. If it’s your first time, you’ll want to arrive early so you can explore as much as possible (and make sure you get first dibs on free samples of vegan goodies!). Even if you’re a food festival veteran, check out the exhibitor list before you arrive so you can visit all the stalls you want to during the day. Take reusable bags for all your goodies, and don’t bother packing lunch – take advantage of all the plant-based catering available instead!
