Redness

Having pale skin puts you at higher risk of rosacea, which will appear as redness across the cheeks, nose, chin and forehead. Although there’s no cure for this redness, there are treatments and cosmetics you can use to help minimise its appearance.

The key to treating rosacea and redness is to reduce the inflammation in your skin. Look for calming skin products that won’t aggravate your skin, and natural ingredients which are thought to help, such as sea buckthorn. Argon Organic’s sea buckthorn anti redness treatment is a great option for mild redness, but if you suffer badly, see your GP for further advice.

Burning

Dealing with pale skin in summer can be a challenge for the best of us, as sunburn can occur surprisingly quickly. Other than avoiding the sun altogether, your next best option is to opt for a natural sunscreen that will protect you, whilst being gentle on skin.

If you have particularly sensitive skin, opt for more natural, zinc based sunscreens instead of chemical based sunscreen. Shade’s range of all natural sunscreen is a perfect option, as it provides SPF and UVA/UVB protection, but is only made from 4, natural ingredients.

Sun Damage

Being prone to burning also makes pale skinned girls more at risk of sun damage, such as wrinkles and age spots. If you’ve already developed some of these signs of skin damage, don’t worry too much, as there are plenty of fair skin beauty products that will help to minimise and cover these imperfections. Although it can be a challenge to find the right shade of foundation, check out ranges such as
Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty which has shades for even the palest of skin.

To prevent further sun damage, stay out of the sun as much as possible and use a high SPF sunscreen with UVA and UVB protection.

Imperfections

Although those with fair skin aren’t necessarily more prone to imperfections, lighter skin tones can make spots or pigmentation more obvious.

The secret to getting flawless skin rests with your skincare routine, so it’s important to opt for gentle, natural products that will support and heal your skin without leaving it feeling dry or unhappy. Skincare brand Votary makes great pale skin products, which are completely natural and based on plant oils. Their hot cloth cleansing routine will leave your skin feeling nourished and healthy in no time.

Smoothness

Fair skin is more prone to a condition called keratosis pilaris, which can cause bumpy and red skin. Although not a serious condition, bumpy skin may be uncomfortable, and leave your cosmetics sitting awkwardly on top.

Many cosmetics that promise smooth skin use harsh chemicals, which may not be suitable for more sensitive pale complexions. Choose specialist fair skin products that will gently help your skin to look and feel smoother. Check out natural facial scrubs and organic face masks that will nourish and support your skin.
